Lunara — Privacy Policy

Lunara (the “app”) is operated by an independent developer (the “we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only what is needed for Lunara to function:

• Profile information you enter: your first name, date of birth, and zodiac sign. Stored locally on your device.
• Readings: the cards drawn, your questions, and AI-generated interpretations. Stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData.
• Subscription status: handled by RevenueCat (see Section 3). An anonymous identifier is used; we do not see your Apple ID.
• Push notifications: if you opt in, we schedule local notifications. No notification content leaves your device.

We do not collect: email, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, IDFA, or any analytics about you personally.

2. Third-Party AI (OpenAI)

When you request a tarot reading, daily card interpretation, horoscope, or chat response, Lunara sends the following to OpenAI (our AI partner):

• Your first name (so Lunara can address you);
• Your birth date and zodiac sign (for astrology context);
• The question or context you choose to share;
• The card(s) drawn.

OpenAI processes this request to generate Lunara’s response. Under OpenAI’s API terms (May 2026), prompts submitted via API are not used to train OpenAI’s models and are retained for at most 30 days for abuse monitoring. See OpenAI’s policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

You can opt out of AI at any time in Settings → Privacy. In offline mode, Lunara shows daily cards with short keyword-based interpretations and no data is sent to OpenAI.

3. Subscriptions (RevenueCat & Apple)

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple and handled by RevenueCat for receipt validation. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier and the subscription status. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

4. Children

Lunara is intended for users 12 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 12.

5. Your Choices

• You can delete any reading from the in-app History.
• You can revoke AI consent in Settings → Privacy.
• Deleting the app deletes all locally stored data.

6. Tarot & Astrology Disclaimer

Lunara provides tarot and astrology content for reflection and entertainment. It is not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice. If you need professional support, please consult a qualified professional.

7. Changes to this Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in-app.
